Welcome!  This webpage provides an overview of my experience as well as links to relevant information for students I work with each day.  If you have any questions about EIP/ MTSS or my role in your child's educational plan, please don't hesitate to contact me!

I have been teaching elementary school since 1996, and I absolutely love being a teacher!  I am certified K-5 general education, K-8 special education, and hold a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.  I've taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades as a homeroom teacher but most recently have enjoyed working with all grade levels through EIP.

In my current position at Evans Elementary School, I will support students in various ways as an *EIP teacher. (This is not the same thing as Special Education.) Sometimes I will go into the regular classroom to lower the teacher: student ratio during reading or math.  I will also bring small groups into my classroom for focused learning and a "double dose" of grade level curriculum. I've been trained in various research-based reading programs and have earned my Math Endorsement, and I am always striving to learn more.

If I have the fortune of working with your child this year, please feel free contact me with any questions or concerns.

I'm happy to help in any way that I can!

*EIP is an acronym for a state funded program known as "Early Intervention Program" and is not considered special education. The Georgia Department of Education describes EIP as follows: "Children start school at a designated chronological age, but differ greatly in their intellectual development and experience base. The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is designed to serve students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level. The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to provide additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time."
