My name is Andrea Short, and I will be your teacher this year.  Let me tell you a little about me.  My husband, Richy, and I have two sons.  This is my 23rd year of teaching.  This is my 2nd year at Evans Elementary and I am excited for this new adventure. I received my Bachelor's degree from Augusta University in 1999 and I earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University.  In 2017 I was honored to be chosen as the Columbia County Teacher of the Year. I have taught 5th grade for 20 years, I think 5th graders are awesome and I truly love my job. I believe that all students can learn and I try to make my classroom welcoming for everyone.  I encourage mutual respect for everyone in my classroom, and I treat my class as if it were a small community.  I hope you and your family enjoy this 5th Grade year and I look forward to working with you.
