Dear Westmont Families,

The day we have all been waiting for has arrived! We are pleased to share that on Monday, August 19, 2024, all students will report to the new Westmont Elementary School for our first day in the state-of-the-art facility.

Please review the attached map outlining car rider pick-up and drop off. Before and after school care will be available at Westmont Elementary School for those who are registered. Grab and go breakfast and lunch will be available for students at no cost. Self-contained students will remain at their current temporary locations.

We look forward to seeing you all at the new Westmont Elementary School!

The Columbia County School District has received notification that students and staff are able to report to the new Westmont Elementary School on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Parents will receive information from the school directly regarding other important information.

We want to thank our entire community for the support shown to our families, students and staff at Westmont Elementary School. Special thanks to the countless staff who came together to help ensure the Westmont team had every resource to provide students with a memorable learning experience at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center. Thank you to our families for your patience and encouragement of students and staff during this time. We are grateful to all of our community partners for your unwavering generosity that helped our teams safely and comfortably accommodate students and staff these past two weeks.

We look forward to continuing an outstanding year of student achievement and success in the new state-of-the-art facility.

Dear Westmont Families,

On Friday, August 16, 2024, all students will report to the Columbia County School District (CCSD) Support Department Complex located at 4395 River Watch Parkway.

For school tomorrow, Friday, August 16, 2024, kindergarten and first-grade students will be dropped off at the support department complex. Students will spend the day rotating between learning stations including visiting a fire truck, an ambulance, and an animal adaptation presentation. Students in grades 2-5 will arrive at the support department complex to check in and have breakfast before departing on their scheduled field trips. All students, including those on field trips, will return to the support department complex for dismissal.

Please review the attached map outlining car line pick-up and drop-off. Please note, that all vehicles should enter the support department complex via River Watch Parkway. Before and after-school care will be available at the complex for those who are registered. Grab-and-go breakfast and lunch will also be provided for all students, including those participating in field trips. Self-contained students will remain at their current temporary locations.

Important District Statement:

August 15, 2024

Tomorrow, Friday, August 16, 2024, Westmont Elementary School students will move to the Columbia County School District Support Department Complex, as planned. Parents will receive important information from the school regarding operational procedures for the day.

While we have been told by the contractor that the building will be ready for students next week, parents are encouraged to review the contingency plans regarding temporary accommodations at the Columbia County Exhibition Center, if needed.

We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may have caused. As soon as we receive updates on building occupancy from the contractor we will notify parents.
